Uniquely Together – celebrate Neurodiversity!
On June 16th, we celebrate the positive power of neurodiversity and embrace the differentness of neurodivergent individuals. In 2024, London joins the ND Pride celebrations for the first time with a big live event. It’s a day of pride, created for and by the community, and supported by ND Pride UK projectleader Isabel Pollen, the Neurodiversiteettisäätiö and the Westminsterin yliopisto.  Â
Mitä on neurodiversiteetti?
Neurodiversiteetti on käsite, jolla viitataan erilaisiin tapoihin, joilla aivot toimivat, hahmottavat ja ymmärtävät maailmaa. Siinä korostetaan, että on tärkeää tunnistaa ja arvostaa ainutlaatuisia vahvuuksia ja kykyjä, jotka johtuvat neurologisista vaihteluista.
Se kannattaa sitä, että neurodiivisille henkilöille tarjotaan tarvittavaa tukea ja mukautuksia, jotta he voivat menestyä yhteiskunnassa, joka on tyypillisesti räätälöity normien mukaisille henkilöille. Tämän käsitteen ydinajatus on, että monimuotoisuus on korvaamatonta koko yhteiskunnalle, vaikka se poikkeaisikin tavanomaisesta normista.
Autisteilla, ADHD-ihmisillä, lahjakkailla, OCD-ihmisillä, lukihäiriöisillä (ja monilla muilla neurodiversiteettiryhmillä) on ainutlaatuiset ajattelumallit, ja heidän monimuotoisuutensa ja yksilöllisyytensä rikastuttavat maailmaa monin tavoin.
On tärkeää tunnustaa, että neurodiivergisillä henkilöillä on jotakin erityistä tarjottavaa, ja he voivat ylpeänä omaksua oman identiteettinsä. Neurodiversity Pride -tapahtumassa kiinnitetään huomiota tähän sekä yksilöllisesti että kollektiivisesti, sekä juhlallisesti että epävirallisesti. Juhli neurodiversiteettiä: Juhli omalla tavallasi!

Future Directions: What are the next actionable steps towards creating inclusive spaces and events where everyone feels welcome, heard and celebrated in their individual differences.  Â

Pääpuheenvuoro
Joka vuosi neurodiversiteettiliikkeen rohkea edelläkävijä pitää pääpuheenvuoron. Tänä vuonna meillä on kunnia saada tohtori Samantha Hiew puhumaan.

This year in the UK, the youth keynote is shared by musician and ND advocate J Grange.The keynote will be premiered on the Neurodiversiteettisäätiön youtube-kanava.Â

Welcome to Neurodiversity Pride 2024: Life Through a Neurodivergent Lens!
13:00 – 16:00 |Â Bridge Central Conferencing & Events | Portland Street Lincoln LN5 7NN UK
Join the charity developmentpluswith their project Neurotopia at Bridge Central Conferencing & Events in Lincoln. This is the first event of its kind, organized by Alexandra Chambers, focusing on celebrating the beauty of neurodiversity in Lincoln.
Listen to our neurodivergent community as they share their experiences, poetry, music & performances, revealing the unique perspectives and talents of neurodivergent individuals. Pete Wharmby, best selling author of Un-Typical, will also be guest speaking! This is a safe space to embrace neurodiversity, to connect with others who understand your journey and a great opportunity for those who want to learn more about the authentic neurodivergent experience. This event is suitable for children but may contain adult themes and so parental guidance is advised. The event will be recorded for those who cannot attend on the date. Capped at 100 tickets due to event capacity, please get your tickets quickly to avoid disappointment. Let’s come together to celebrate diversity and empower each other.
