These can be big or small \u2013 from proud moments and growth experiences to insights or gratitude. This is an informal, supportive moment to honour and uplift our diverse voices and experiences.<br \/>\n\ud83e\udd6a Community Lunch<br \/>\nWe\u2019ll enjoy a relaxed and friendly lunch together \u2013 a broodje and drink are included in your ticket price. This is a great chance to meet others, continue conversations, and share in the spirit of community.<br \/>\n\ud83c\udfa4 Presentation &amp; Mini Workshop<br \/>\nThis year we are excited to welcome a guest speaker from the other side of the world to share her insights.<br \/>\nDr Nicolina Newcombe is a late-diagnosed autistic person from Aotearoa New Zealand. She holds a PhD in Education, in which she conducted inclusive research with people with intellectual disability, and a Master\u2019s in M\u0101ori and Pacific Development. She works as an Inclusion Advisor for IHC, an organisation that advocates for the rights of autistic people and people with intellectual disability.<br \/>\nDr Nicolina Newcombe<br \/>\nInclusion Advisor, IHC New Zealand Incorporated<br \/>\nTalk title: \u201cThe impact of takiw\u0101tanga on autistic pride in Aotearoa New Zealand\u201d<br \/>\nThis talk will share insights from her research into takiw\u0101tanga \u2013 a te reo M\u0101ori word meaning \u201cin his\/her\/their own time and space\u201d \u2013 and how this concept shapes autistic pride in Aotearoa New Zealand. Rooted in M\u0101ori worldviews that embrace difference as a natural part of whakapapa (genealogy), takiw\u0101tanga presents a powerful counter-narrative to deficit-based views of autism.
