In 2025, it is being celebrated for the 8th time, in 2024 there were activities in fifteen countries around the world. <\/strong><\/p>\n This page does not have the new program for Belgium, but you can allready order free tickets<\/a> for the 2025 ND Pride Belgium conference.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n What Do We Celebrate?<\/strong><\/p>\n The uniqueness of our neurodivergent brains and the added value of neurodiversity in society. The term neurodiversity refers to the different ways in which brains function, perceive, and understand the world. It recognizes and appreciates the strengths and abilities that arise from different neurotypes. People with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, DCD, gifted individuals, etc., all possess unique qualities and, in their diversity, make the world a better place. Additionally, it advocates for providing support and accommodations to neurodivergent individuals so they can function in a society that is tailored to the majority.<\/p>\n Organizers<\/strong><\/p>\n ND Pride Belgium is organized by Bjie<\/span>n<\/span><\/a>, iDrops<\/a>, en Neurodiversity Belgium<\/a>\u00a0en de Neurodiversity Foundation<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n About ND Pride<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Neurodiversity Pride Day was started in 2018 by the Neurodiversity Foundation, initiated by the neurodivergent community itself in collaboration with volunteers and supporting organizations. Over the years, the day has grown increasingly larger. It is a beautiful, positive day where we highlight the good aspects of neurodiversity and neurodivergence. The core of the day is for neurodivergent people to take a moment to reflect positively on themselves, making it an annual tradition. The flagpole is in front of the building on the Henri Dunant Avenue at the faculty of psychology and educational sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n Both activities are free to attend, and this is your invitation. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing and appreciating the unique strengths and abilities that arise from neurological variations.<\/p>\n It advocates for providing the necessary support and accommodations to neurodivergent individuals so they can thrive in a society typically tailored to those who meet the norm. The core idea behind this concept is that this diversity is invaluable to society as a whole, even when it deviates from the conventional norm.<\/p>\n Autistics, ADHD individuals, gifted individuals, people with OCD, dyslexics (and many other neurodivergent groups) all possess unique thinking patterns, and their diversity and individuality enrich the world in many ways.<\/p>\n It is essential to acknowledge that neurodivergent individuals have something special to offer, and they may proudly embrace their own identity. Through Neurodiversity Pride, attention is drawn to this, both individually and collectively, both ceremonially and informally. Het benadrukt het belang van het erkennen en waarderen van de unieke sterke punten en capaciteiten die voortkomen uit neurologische variaties.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n Het pleit voor het bieden van de benodigde ondersteuning en aanpassingen aan neurodivergenten, zodat zij kunnen gedijen in een samenleving die doorgaans is afgestemd op mensen die aan de norm voldoen. The flaghoisting procedure<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0will take 30 minutes in total. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Afterwards the hoisting, you can picknick (bring your own food) in a green location closeby or talk at the Student Plaza.
