SUMMARY:NeuroRespect now!
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to join the campaign of the ages to strengthen the mental health of Norwegians? \nThroughout the summer we will mobilize and collect 5\,000 signatures before the celebration in Oslo in the fall. Join the movement\, and go for mobilization and effort! \nOn Saturday\, June 6\, we will gather to celebrate the community and mark the kickoff for the petition “NeuroRespect Now!”. \nPeople are waking up and understanding that they are not the ones who should bear the shame. It is a health system that leaves knowledge dissemination to social media. \nADHD and autism are not that difficult to understand. It is more difficult to accept. Professional lag means that the most important thing is forgotten: ethical rules and international guidelines. The health service is not good enough and attitudes must be addressed. Serious professionals take people seriously and believe in patients when they talk about their most vulnerable. \nBelittling\, transgressive behavior and incitement are violations of patient rights. We need a real boost in competence. \nThis is how we strengthen the mental health of Norwegians! \nJoin the campaign. Sign and share the petition. \nWe hope to see you in Trondheim on June 6th and in Oslo this fall. 🧡🩷💚

SUMMARY:Neurodiversity Pride Day - University of Bedfordshire
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 16 June 2026 | University of Bedfordshire | United Kingdom \nLanguage: English \nNeurodiversity Pride Day – University of Bedfordshire is a Neurodiversity Pride Day event bringing together academic\, workplace and lived-experience perspectives to explore how more inclusive environments can be built for neurodivergent people. \nThe event creates space for conversation about neuroinclusion\, accessibility\, leadership\, customer experience and the everyday systems that shape whether neurodivergent people feel understood\, supported and respected. \nOne of the contributors is Isabella Hedges\, representing Metro Bank UK. Isabella will share from her experience and passion for inclusion\, with a focus on how organisations can support both customers and colleagues in more thoughtful\, accessible and human ways. \nThis event connects strongly with Neurodiversity Pride Day because inclusion is not only a principle or policy. It is something people feel in the way services are designed\, how colleagues communicate\, how customers are supported\, and how organisations respond to different needs without judgement or unnecessary barriers. \nMany neurodivergent people encounter barriers in everyday systems: banking\, education\, healthcare\, employment\, public services and digital platforms. A conversation about corporate and customer inclusion can help organisations ask better questions: Who is expected to adapt? Whose needs are anticipated? Which processes create unnecessary stress? And what would it mean to design services and workplaces where more people feel they belong? \nBy bringing together university\, workplace and lived-experience perspectives\, this event contributes to the wider Neurodiversity Pride Day movement: a movement rooted in dignity\, self-acceptance\, practical change and the recognition that different minds should not have to be hidden\, corrected or excluded in order to participate. \nPractical information\n\nEvent: Neurodiversity Pride Day – University of Bedfordshire\nDate: Tuesday 16 June 2026\nTime: to be confirmed via the Eventbrite registration page\nLocation: University of Bedfordshire\, United Kingdom\nTime zone: BST / UK time\nLanguage: English\nContributor: Isabella Hedges\nOrganisation represented: Metro Bank UK\nAudience: students\, staff\, neurodivergent people\, allies\, workplace inclusion teams\, accessibility professionals\, customer inclusion professionals\, service designers\, leaders and community members\n\nWhat to expect\n\nA Neurodiversity Pride Day event at the University of Bedfordshire\nPerspectives from academic\, workplace and lived-experience contexts\nDiscussion of neuroinclusion\, accessibility and inclusive environments\nInsights connected to customer and colleague inclusion\nA contribution from Isabella Hedges\, representing Metro Bank UK\nA space to reflect on how organisations can better support neurodivergent people in practice\n\nThis event may be especially relevant for people interested in neurodiversity\, accessibility\, workplace inclusion\, customer experience\, inclusive leadership\, service design\, higher education\, banking and financial services inclusion\, and the practical changes organisations can make so neurodivergent people feel recognised and supported. \nView the Eventbrite registration page here \nThis event has been suggested as a relevant contribution to the Neurodiversity Pride Week programme and is organised independently.

SUMMARY:Inter Lace Work: Neurodiversity and Creativity Conference 2026
DESCRIPTION:Inter Lace Work: Neurodiversity and Creativity Conference 2026\n9-12 June 2026 | Reykjavík\, Iceland & Online | GMT / Reykjavík time \nInter Lace Work: Autism and Neurodiversity in the Beneath Ecologies of Creative Collaboration is a conference connected to the AnFinn Research Project at the University of Iceland. The conference explores neurodivergent creative practices\, creativity research\, artistic collaboration\, activism\, academia\, and the question of how arts spaces can become more inclusive of neurodivergent people. \nThe project begins from an important and powerful hypothesis: that the potential for neurodivergent creativity is still disproportionately unrealised because of ableist systems and structures. In response\, the conference creates space for neurodivergent creative practitioners\, creativity researchers\, artists\, activists and experimental thinkers to share ideas across different formats and disciplines. \nThis is not a standard academic conference in the narrow sense. The programme is described as cross-genre\, bringing together academic\, creative\, activist\, experimental and other forms of contribution. It recognises that neurodivergent creativity may not always fit neatly into conventional presentation styles\, institutional expectations or ableist ideas of what “proper” knowledge-sharing should look like. \nThe event connects strongly with Neurodiversity Pride Week because it centres neurodivergent creativity\, agency and participation. It asks not only how neurodivergent people can be included in existing creative spaces\, but also how those spaces may need to change when neurodivergent ways of thinking\, sensing\, making and collaborating are taken seriously. \nPractical information\n\nEvent: Inter Lace Work: Autism and Neurodiversity in the Beneath Ecologies of Creative Collaboration\nDates: 9-12 June 2026\nMain conference overlap with ND Pride Week: 11-12 June 2026\nTime zone: GMT / Reykjavík time\nLocation: University of Iceland\, Reykjavík Arts Festival locations\, and online\nMain presentation venue: Veröld\, University of Iceland\nArts Festival takeover: Iðnó Cultural Centre\, Reykjavík\nOrganiser: AnFinn Project / University of Iceland\nAudience: neurodivergent creative practitioners\, researchers\, artists\, activists\, educators\, arts workers\, academics and people interested in neurodivergent creativity\n\nProgramme overview\n\nTuesday 9 June\, 20:00 – 22:00: conference dinner\nWednesday 10 June\, 09:00 – 18:00: conference presentations at Veröld\, University of Iceland\nThursday 11 June\, 13:00 – 17:00: Reykjavík Arts Festival takeover\, “Adventures in Neurodivergent Space\,” at Iðnó Cultural Centre\nFriday 12 June\, 09:00 – 15:00: conference presentations at Veröld\, University of Iceland\n\nWhat to expect\n\nA neurodiversity and creativity conference with academic\, creative\, activist and experimental contributions\nPresentations and creative sharing by neurodivergent practitioners and creativity researchers\nExploration of ableist barriers in arts\, academia and creative communities\nQuestions about how creative spaces can become more inclusive\, accessible and transformative\nOpportunities to engage in person in Reykjavík or through online participation\nAttention to accessibility\, low sensory stimulation protocols and sensory soothing spaces\n\nThis event may be especially relevant for neurodivergent artists\, writers\, performers\, researchers\, activists\, students\, arts organisations\, cultural institutions\, academics\, educators and anyone interested in the relationship between neurodiversity\, creativity\, collaboration and social change. \nView the event and registration information here \nThis event has been suggested as a relevant contribution to the Neurodiversity Pride Week programme by the community. The event is organised independently and has paid tickets\, so its not exclusively created for ND Pride Iceland\, but we love sharing it anyway.

SUMMARY:Neurocafe Amstelveen
Juist daarom maken we Neurocafé zo laagdrempelig mogelijk. Alleen komen is helemaal oké.

SUMMARY:Neurodiversity Pride week kickstart event: ND pride x Mansepride\, Silent Disco
DESCRIPTION:For the third time\, Setlementti Tampere Association is taking part in a joint event during Neurodiversity Pride Week and Manse Pride Week. These two pride weeks take place partly at the same time each year\, so with this event we want to raise awareness\, create space\, and offer opportunities for participation especially for queer people who are part of neurodivergent minorities. \n  \nThe event is intended for neurodivergent people aged 16 and over \n  \nProgram highlights: \nSilent Disco – featuring a live DJ and alternative playlists. Choose your favorite music from three (3) different channels! \nWorkshops and activities – Sign-making workshop for Saturday’s Manse Pride parade. This year we will also have our own neurodivergent block in the parade\, which will be a quiet block! \nFood and drinks\, and relaxed socializing together. \nThe event is substance-free\, and we follow the safer space principles of Setlementti Tampere Association. \nAdditional accessibility information: \nThe Hepokatti Hall has bright lighting. Music will be played through headphones\, so there will be no music played in the room itself. The space has an echo\, and sudden loud noises may occur. It is also possible to withdraw to quieter\, calmer spaces within the venue.

SUMMARY:NEURODIVERGENTES: AUTISTAS (Online)

SUMMARY:Inspiratiesessie: Neurodivergentie op de werkvloer 🧠

SUMMARY:Sensory Mapping Workshop - School Through Our Sences
DESCRIPTION:School Through Our Senses is a participatory sensory mapping workshop organized with students of the School “Veljko Ramadanovic” in Belgrade as part of Neurodiversity Pride Week 2026. \nDuring the workshop\, students aged 7–14 will explore different school spaces through sound\, light\, touch\, smell and the need for rest and regulation. Through simple tasks\, discussion\, color coding and a “sensory thermometer”\, students will identify which spaces feel pleasant\, slightly intense or overwhelming. \nThe activity aims to raise awareness of different sensory experiences\, support children in recognizing their own sensory needs\, and encourage empathy towards others who may experience the same space differently. As a final outcome\, students will co-create a sensory map of the school\, marking places where they feel comfortable\, places where they would like to rest\, and spaces that may require additional support or adaptation. \nThe workshop is connected to the Invisible Cartographies project\, co-funded by The Creative Europe Programme of the European Union\, and contributes to developing participatory methods for creating sensory maps of schools\, museums and cultural spaces.

SUMMARY:Neurodivergent Scholars' Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 11 June 2026 | 11:45 – 12:45 PDT / Los Angeles time | Online \nNeurodivergent Scholars’ Meeting is an online gathering hosted by Dr Emma Brodzinski\, created as a space for neurodivergent scholars to come together\, share experiences\, and explore strategies for navigating PhD life. \nDoing a PhD can be demanding for anyone\, but neurodivergent scholars may face additional challenges in academic systems that are often built around narrow expectations of productivity\, communication\, focus\, planning\, networking\, supervision and self-management. This meeting offers a more understanding space to discuss those realities without needing to mask or pretend that academia is always easy to navigate. \nThe session invites participants to explore practical tips\, strategies and peer knowledge around doctoral research as a neurodivergent person. It may include reflection on structure\, energy\, executive functioning\, confidence\, motivation\, supervision\, academic pressure\, isolation\, overwhelm and the search for ways of working that are more sustainable. \nThis event connects strongly with Neurodiversity Pride Week because pride is not only about celebration in public spaces. It is also about building supportive spaces within universities\, research communities and academic life\, where neurodivergent people can be recognised as scholars\, thinkers\, researchers and knowledge-makers in their own right. \nPractical information\n\nEvent: Neurodivergent Scholars’ Meeting\nDate: Thursday 11 June 2026\nTime: 11:45 – 12:45 PDT / Los Angeles time\nLocation: Online\nPlatform: Eventbrite / online meeting\nHost: Dr Emma Brodzinski\nAudience: neurodivergent PhD researchers\, doctoral students\, early-career researchers\, and people interested in neurodivergent experiences in academia\nCost: free\n\nWhat to expect\n\nAn online meeting for neurodivergent scholars\nSpace to explore strategies and tips for navigating the PhD\nPeer reflection around academic life\, research and support\nA chance to connect with others who understand neurodivergent experiences in higher education\nA supportive academic space during Neurodiversity Pride Week\n\nThis event may be especially relevant for neurodivergent PhD researchers\, postgraduate students\, academic staff\, supervisors\, research support professionals\, disability support teams\, and anyone interested in making academia more accessible\, humane and neuro-affirming. \nView the event and registration information here \nThis event has been suggested as a relevant contribution to the Neurodiversity Pride Week programme by the community. SUMMARY:Humour\, Neurodivergence and the Brain: Why Funny Minds Work Differently
DESCRIPTION:Why do so many neurodivergent people gravitate toward humour — and why are so many comedians\, improvisers\, writers and quick thinkers neurodivergent themselves? \nEmerging research suggests that humour may be deeply connected to many neurodivergent traits\, including pattern recognition\, divergent thinking\, emotional processing\, sensory sensitivity\, masking\, social navigation and nervous system regulation. \nThis interactive session explores the two-way relationship between humour and neurodivergence: how neurodivergent brains may process humour differently — and how humour itself can become a powerful tool for regulation\, connection\, resilience and survival. \nResearch areas we’ll explore: \n\nDivergent thinking\, creativity and unexpected associations\nPattern recognition\, rapid cognition and comedic timing\nDopamine\, novelty-seeking and ADHD humour styles\nMasking\, social adaptation and humour as communication\nNervous system regulation\, stress relief and laughter physiology\nHumour\, rejection sensitivity and emotional processing\nWhy humour can both support and hide burnout\nThe overlap between trauma responses\, hypervigilance and observational comedy\n\nWe’ll also explore: \n\nWhy many neurodivergent people use humour instinctively in difficult situations\nWhy quick wit can sometimes develop from social adaptation\nThe difference between connecting humour and defensive humour\nWhy some ND people feel “too much” and joke their way through it\nWhat current research supports — and where evidence is still emerging\n\nExpect a science-informed but highly interactive session blending neuroscience\, psychology\, lived experience and humour itself. Through discussion\, reflection and real-world examples\, we’ll explore why funny brains often work differently — and how humour can become both a coping strategy and a form of connection\, creativity and regulation. \nPresented by: \n \nJennifer Lara Clarke of Switzerland\, in collaboration with Neurodiversity Belgium (NDB) \nJennifer is a communications strategist\, coach\, facilitator and comedy storyteller who is deeply fascinated by why some of the funniest people also happen to have very busy nervous systems. \nWith a background spanning global communications\, leadership coaching and behaviour change\, Jennifer combines science\, humour and lived experience to create interactive sessions on neurodivergence\, resilience\, creativity and human connection. Her work explores how humour can function as a coping strategy\, communication tool\, nervous system regulator and survival skill — particularly for neurodivergent people navigating an overwhelming world. \nShe believes some brains don’t just think differently. They also joke differently. \nFormat:\nOnline event \nHosted by:\nSwiss Pride Team and Neurodiversity Belgium \nThis webinar will be delivered in English\, with French subtitles available. \nJennifer Lara Clarke: https://www.jennaclarke.com/\nContact: events@neurodiversity.be
